UNDERSTANDING SOCIAL ENGINEERING THREATS TO SMALL BUSINESSES

A discussion of the Cyber-Based Social Engineering threats facing small businesses today, including Spear-Phishing and the Business Email Compromise.

Tom Ensz 

Tom Ensz has been employed in law enforcement for 22 years, the last 18 of which have been as a Special Agent of the FBI. Tom has served as a City of Overland Park, Kansas, Police Officer and a United States Border Patrol Agent.

In his FBI career, Tom was assigned to the Laredo Resident Agency of the San Antonio Division and the Dallas Division. He is currently assigned to the Kansas City Division, Wichita Resident Agency. In these assignments, he has investigated crimes including: Public Corruption, Drug Trafficking, Violent Gangs/Organized Crime, International Terrorism, White Collar Crime, and currently, Cyber Crime.

As an FBI Special Agent investigating Cyber Crime, the vast majority of his investigative work focuses on computer and network intrusions.
